61 lots sold in Training Sale 2024 at Sapporo Racecourse

On the 21st, the Training Sale 2024, hosted by the Hidaka Breeders Association, was held at the Japan Racing Association's Sapporo Racecourse in Hokkaido. Of the 86 horses that participated in the public training session in the morning, 61 horses (38 colts, 23 fillies) were sold for a total of 423.4 million JPY (excluding tax). The sale clearance rate was 70.93%.

The highest-priced horse was Hip No. 26, a colt by Isla Bonita out of Wassermann 2022, which was purchased for 27.5 million JPY by Mr. Kenjiro Mochizuki. This colt has a notable pedigree, with his half-brother, Zenno Genie, currently racing as a 3-year-old, and a great-grand-mam, Diamond Biko, who was awarded the JRA Award for Best Older Filly or Mare in 2002. The colt drew attention by clocking impressive times of 12.2 seconds and 11.1 seconds during the public training session in the morning.
