Race favourite Prognosis, with last year's Champion Jockey Yuga Kawada on board, took home the Kinko Sho in Chukyo Racecourse. Prognosis travelled at the back of the field and progressed to join the leaders rounding the home turn. Feengrotten led the group into the straight but didn't have enough to escape from Prognosis, coming up short by 0.75 lengths.

Arata came in third by 1.25 lengths behind Feengrotten.

Prognosis is a son of Deep Impact out of Velda, by Deep Impact. This is his first graded title and the victory earned him an entry spot to the G1 Osaka Hai.
