Prometedor, a 2-year-old filly by Bricks And Mortar, is set to make her debut in Race 5 (2000m turf) at Nakayama Racecourse on Sunday. Her dam, Curalina, was a three-time G1 winner on dirt in the United States.
Trainer Takashi Kubota described her as "a slender filly with a good frame. She seems like the type to show a strong finishing kick on turf." During her final prep last week at Miho Training Center's woodchip track, Prometedor clocked 6 furlongs in 82.9 seconds, with splits of 39.4 and 12.4 seconds. Jockey Akira Sugawara was optimistic about her potential, "She's a good horse. While she still lacks power and struggles a bit on the woodchip surface, I believe she'll show her true ability on turf."
