This week features racing at three venues across Japan. Action is at Fukushima, Kokura, and Sapporo, with one graded stakes race on the schedule.
On Sunday, the 21st, Kokura Racecourse will host the G3 Chukyo Kinen. Expected runners are Elton Barows, who has been competing in G1 races. Al Naseem is aiming for his first graded stakes victory over his preffered distance of 1800 meters, and Theo, coming off two consecutive wins and in good form.
In the NAR, the JpnIII Mercury Cup will be held on the 15th. Meisho Funjin, is aiming for his first graded stakes title after finishing third in the G3 Heian Stakes, and Crown Pride, who has previously won the UAE Derby and Korea Cup, are amongst the entries.
