Another promising talent from the prolific sire Nadal is set to debut. Clarinet Sonata, a 2-year-old filly with a two-time graded stakes-winning dam, aims for victory in her first race in Race 3, which is for 2-year-old newcomers (1800m dirt), at Niigata on Saturday.

Clarinet Sonata is by Nadal out of Reneesgotzip, by City Zip. Nadal's first crop of 2-year-olds has already produced three winners in the Japan Racing Association. Her dam, Reneesgotzip, was a successful graded stakes winner in the U.S., and her half-sister Strict Code has three wins to her name.

Initially slated for a debut at Tokyo in June, Clarinet Sonata's debut was postponed due to health issues. After a spell, she has been intensively trained on the slope course and woodchip track since returning to the training centre. This week, she outperformed Pretty Diva, who is set to run in the Open Class Dahlia Sho, showcasing her high potential. With Yuga Kawada set to ride, Clarinet Sonata could very well live up to expectations and secure an impressive debut win.
