Bellagio Opera, in the hands of Takeshi Yokoyama, remains unbeaten after winning the Grade 2 Spring Stakes. Bellagio Opera travelled in mid-field throughout and made seemingly effortless progress to take the lead in the final 400 metres. Ho O Biscuits ridden by Takeshi's brother, Kazuo Yokoyama, finished in second, one-and-a-quarter lengths behind the winner.

Bellagio Opera is a son of Lord Kanaloa out of Air Routine, by Harbinger. This was his third win from three starts, a first in graded company. Bellagio Opera, Ho O Biscuits, and Metal Speed all gained automatic entry to in the G1 Satsuki Sho (the Japanese 2000 Guineas).
