Legendary Japanese jockey Yutaka Take is considering an option to compete in the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe on October 6th at Paris Longchamp. The potential engagement would mark his 11th attempt at the prestigious race, and his first since 2022 with Do Deuce.

Take is set to partner with the Irish G1 winner Al Riffa, a 4-year-old colt trained by Joseph O'Brien and co-owned by Masaaki Matsushima, who also co-owns Do Deuce. Speaking to the press at Sapporo Racecourse on the 11th, Yutaka Take shared his thoughts, "I received an offer to ride in the Grosser Preis von Berlin, but it was a bit too short notice. If everything goes smoothly, we are aiming for the Arc. There's also talk of riding him in a trial race beforehand, which I'm thrilled about. It's a big offer, and I'm excited. His last race, where he finished second in the G1 Eclipse Stakes, was impressive. I'm really looking forward to this."

Do Deuce, who Take has regularly partnered with, will focus on domestic targets this fall and is set to retire at the end of the year. Despite this, Matsushima's dream of winning the Arc with Yutaka Take remains alive, and Take will once again pursue the goal of becoming the first Japanese jockey to win the Arc.
