Fiddle Faddle, a 2-year-old filly and half-sister to 2021 Breeders' Cup Distaff winner Marche Lorraine, is set to make her debut in the 2-Year-Old Newcomers race (1800m, turf) at Niigata on Sunday.

Fiddle Faddle is sired by Satono Aladdin, out of Vite Marcher, by French Deputy. Her half-sister Marche Lorraine made history by winning the 2021 Breeders' Cup Distaff, becoming the first Japanese-trained horse to capture a U.S. dirt G1 title. Another half-sibling, Badenweiler, claimed victory in both the 2022 Jpn 3 Mercury Cup and the 2023 Jpn 3 Saga Kinen. Additionally, her niece Namur won the 2023 G1 Mile Championship, while another relative, Ravel, took the 2022 G3 Artemis Stakes. The family lineage traces back to her grand-dam, Kyoei March, who won the 1997 G1 Oka Sho, marking Fiddle Faddle as a member of a highly successful bloodline.

Fiddle Faddle has been trained steadily over the past month, clocking times that meet standard expectations. While her older sister Marche Lorraine went on to thrive on dirt, she interestingly finished second in her debut on turf over 1600m. All eyes will be on Fiddle Faddle to see how she performs in her first race and whether she can follow in the impressive footsteps of her distinguished family.
