Shinryokuka with Hatsuya Kowata on board won the G3 Niigata Kinen at Niigata Racecourse. Seleccion finished second, a nose behind the winner, and pre-race favourite King's Palace came home in third a half-length behind Seleccion. The winning time was 1:58.0.
Shinryokuka is a daughter of Satono Diamond out of Lei Carla, by King Kamehameha. In her previous race, the G3 Fukushima Himba Stakes, Shinryokuka unfortunately fell at the third corner and was unable to finish, suffering a fracture to her withers. However, in her comeback race, she triumphantly returned to the winner's circle, securing her first graded stakes victory. This win also marked the first Japan Racing Association graded stakes victory for both jockey Hatsuya Kowata and trainer Masahiro Takeuchi.
