This weekend's racing will feature three graded stakes. Our original AI has picked up three notable horses that will be running in the G2 Centaur Stakes at Chukyo Racecourse.

In the previous G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes, Asakara King struggled right from the start, failing to break smoothly and lacking early speed. Although he managed to secure a second position after being urged forward, it seemed he had to expend considerable energy to get there. As he approached the straight and drew level with the leaders, his momentum faded, and he weakened to finish 9th without showing his usual tenacity. The energy spent early in the race likely took its toll.

Asakara King has secured five wins in his career by leading from start to finish. His performance suggests that he fares better when he can set the pace rather than being held back, as in his last race. Notably, he led and finished second in the G3 Hankyu Hai three starts ago, which shows his ability to perform well when allowed to dictate the race. The key will be his ability to break smoothly and take the lead. If he does, a significant turnaround in form is possible.

Toshin Macau has had a couple of unremarkable runs, finishing 6th in both the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen and the G2 Keio Hai Spring Cup. However, those races were against top-tier competition, so the results are understandable. He won the G3 Ocean Stakes three starts back, and four starts ago he won the G3 Keihan Hai, indicating that he is more competitive at G3 level.

In G3 turf sprints over 1200m, Toshin Macau has run seven times, with three wins, two third-place finishes, and two fourth-place finishes. He has never finished outside the top five, demonstrating consistency. Although Miho Training Center horses have generally struggled in the past decade at the G2 Centaur Stakes, Toshin Macau's solid graded stakes record suggests he has a strong chance of performing well. If he runs to his ability, a solid performance is expected.

Danon Scorpion has struggled to make an impact since finishing third in the 2022 G2 Fuji Stakes, often failing to even make the board. However, two races ago, he showed signs of a return to form with a strong finish, clocking the second-fastest closing section to secure fourth in the G2 Keio Hai Spring Cup.

This will be Danon Scorpion's first attempt at 1200m since debuting. His sire, Lord Kanaloa, was a top sprinter who produced many successful short-distance runners, indicating that he should be well-suited to this distance. Although his recent form may cause him to be overlooked in the betting, his natural ability could make him a serious contender for a long-awaited graded stakes victory if he finds new life at this shorter distance.
