Second-favourite Meisho Tabaru broke sharply from the widest gate, taking the lead early and opening up a clear advantage in the G2 Kobe Shimbun Hai. The colt kept extending his lead throughout the race, showing resilience in the final stretch to secure victory, and add a second graded stakes title to his resume after the G3 Mainichi Hai. Finishing half-a-length behind in second was third favourite June Take, who produced a strong finish from a good position on the inside, while fourth favourite Shonan la Punta took third. The top three finishers earned priority entry to the G1 Kikuka Sho (October 20, Kyoto Racecourse). The winning time was 2 minutes and 11.8 seconds.

Jockey Suguru Hamanaka, wiping sweat after the race, remarked, "He was strong today. He ran really well in similar conditions in the G3 Mainichi Hai, so I knew he liked today's going." Reflecting on the race, Hamanaka added, "After the break, I didn't force him and let him settle naturally as we approached the first corner. He handled it smoothly, and once he gets into this kind of rhythm, he's tough to beat. He dug in well to hold off the challengers."

With this win, Meisho Tabaru secured his spot in the Kikuka Sho. After an underwhelming spring campaign, where he finished 17th in the G1 Satsuki Sho and was withdrawn from the G1 Japanese Derby, Hamanaka expressed confidence moving forward, "He's freshened up with the break, and I feel he's maturing little by little. I'm hopeful we can continue in good form toward the next big race."
