King No Jo
Set to debut in the 2000m Tokyo Racecourse Race 5 on Saturday, King No Jo, a 2-year-old colt by Silver State, is the younger half-brother of Justin Palace, the winner of the 2023 Tenno Sho (Spring). At the 2023 Yearling Select Sale, King No Jo fetched a price of 310 million JPY (before tax), tying for the highest price at the auction.
During a trackwork session on the 10th at Miho Training Center, King No Jo worked alongside Lemon Pop, the winner of the Nambu Hai on the 14th, and Denkmal, who dominated the Newcomers in Tokyo's Race 5 on the same day. He held his own against both, showing promising movement. Trainer Hiroyasu Tanaka noted that the colt is still physically immature and will need time to grow but added, "Even at this stage, he runs with a strong core and stability, and I can sense his potential."
