The only G1 winner in the race, Schnell Meister won the G2 Milers Cup at the renewed Kyoto Racecourse as the race favorite. He reserved his speed towards the rear of the field, and made his move from the outside in the homestretch. Gaia Force finished in second place, with Soul Rush in third.
After a major renovation, Kyoto Racecourse resumed operations after approximately two-and-a-half years on the 22nd. This race was the first Graded Stakes race held at the track since the renovation.
The winner of the 2021 NHK Mile Cup, Schnell Meister claimed his third Graded Stakes title with his first win since the G2 Mainichi Okan in October 2021. His jockey Christophe Lemaire said: "It's great to have won the first Graded Stakes race at the new Kyoto Racecourse. Since he's a G1 winner, if he's in good condition, he can show a good turn of foot. Today, I was able to show the real Schnell Meister." Lemaire emphasized: "I believe he can win a G1 race again."
Regarding the renovated Kyoto Racecourse, he said with a smile, "We were missing it because it was closed for about three years, but Kyoto Racecourse has become very beautiful and everyone is happy. I think I can do a good job as a jockey here."
