Tracking system in operation
A new runner tracking service was launced for the G2 Yomiuri Milers Cup on April 23rd in Kyoto. A sensor, including a GPS antenna, is attached to each runner's number cloth. The positional is data received in real-time and graphically displayed to race fans on the Turf Vision screen at Kyoto Racecourse. This is intended to create and easy-to-understand visual representation and enhance the experience for the on-course spectator.
The system will be in use in Kyoto Racecourse until April 30th, from May 6th to June 11th at Tokyo Racetrack, and from the 17th to 25th of June at Hanshin. This new tracking software is only used in the main race of each day, the 11th race.
