On the 25th, the JRA Breeze-Up Sale was held at Nakayama Racecourse. This sale is a 2-year-old in-training sale hosted by the Japan Racing Association (JRA). The sale targets JRA horse owners who have completed the purchase registration, and, as of last year, online bidding participation was also possible through the online bidding system.
The sale includes the ridden demonstration, and horse exhibitions before the actual sale. Four out of the 83 listed candidates were absent, but many offspring of new stallions, such as Rey de Oro, Suave Richard, Cheval Grand, Al Ain, and California Chrome, were listed. 78 of the 83 listed horses were sold, which was equivalent to 93.9% clearance rate.
Two horses shared the highest selling price, both with a bid price of 29.7 million yen (tax included). Pink Champagne 2021 (by Declaration of War) was purchased by Shunsaku Sagami, and Through the Air 2021 (by Mind Your Biscuits) was purchased by Nobuyuki Oyagi, known for the "Daishin" prefix.
Rey de Oro's offspring had the highest price among the new stallions. Conquest Harlanate 2021 was purchased by Isamu Ishida for 21.45 million yen (tax included). The only offspring of Satono Ares among the listed horses, Attrice Nova 2021 was purchased by owner Hajime Satomi, who also owned the sire, for 8.25 million yen (tax included).
