On May 14th, veteran jockey Yoshitomi Shibata broke his own record as the oldest jockey to win in the JRA (Japan Racing Association). He achieved success in the first race on the Tokyo card aboard Grace Carillon, marking his 23rd winner of the year and his 2,321st career winner.

Shibata commented, "I was concerned because the horse was not relaxed in the parade ring and behind the stalls. However, this time she ran with power and confidence. If she can relax, I believe she can perform even better."
