On the 16th, Sho Yoshii, an NAR jockey based at Oi Racecourse under the guidance of Hiroyuki Matsura, started a two-week temporary training ride stint at Ritto Training Centre. This arrangement was made as an "exchange program" with jockey Naho Furukawa, who is currently suspended from riding due to improper use of communication devices during a race day.
Yoshii rode two horses from the Yahagi stable on the first day. After completing his first training session, Yoshii appeared surprised and said, "I was allowed to train on the uphill course, but the training centre is huge, and I got lost a bit."
This project was devised between Yoshii's mentor, trainer Matsura from Oi, and Furukawa's mentor trainer Yahagi, who have a close relationship. Yoshii sees this as a valuable opportunity and expressed his desire for it, saying, "I want to study the horse's conditioning at a prestigious stable. I also want to learn from jockey Ryusei Sakai and hear about his approach to horses."
