Connections revealed that "Magic Man" Joao Moreira will obtain a JRA short-term license for the first time in five years. He will be in Japan from the summer Sapporo meeting until the Grade 1s in the fall.

Commenting on his return to Japan, Moreira said, "I am so happy to be able to ride in Japan again. I cannot wait to meet all the racing fans in Japan after years of covid restrictions."

It had been rumoured that retirement was on the horizon for Moreira, on which he commented: "Retirement is not on my mind at all. I am qualified for a JRA short-term licence and I will come back to Japan next year as well."
