Favorite of the race, Gloria Mundi won the G3 Heian Stakes on Saturday, partnered by Yuga Kawada. The pair positioned up front, a few lengths behind the leader, and drew away from their rivals round the home turn. Hagino Alegrias finished two-and-a-half lengths behind the winner.

Vanyar came home in third, a length behind Hagino Alegrias.

Gloria Mundi is a son of King Kamehameha out of Bettolle, by Blu Air Force. This is his second consecutive graded stakes title, after winning the Diolite Kinen at NAR Funabashi Racecourse.
