Ridden by Yuga Kawada, Liberty Island won the G1 Yushun Himba, the Japanese Oaks, with a stunning six-length victory on Sunday, clocking a time of 2:23.1. The pair stayed in mid-field and drew away from their rivals in the last two furlongs. Harper finished second and Dura came home in third.

Liberty Island is a daughter of Duramente out of Yankee Rose, by All American. This is her third consecutive G1 winner and second fillies' Classic title. Kawada and Liberty Island will now aim to complete the Triple Tiara in the G1 Shuka Sho in October.
