The winner of this year's G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen, seven-year-old First Force has retired from racing. He is now scheduled to become a stallion at Arrow Stud in Hokkaido, as announced by the JRA on the 8th June.
First Force is a son of Lord Kanaloa out of Rush Life, with Sakura Bakushin O as his maternal grandsire.
First Force made his debut in June 2019 in a maiden race at Hanshin Racecourse. After transferring to NAR Hokkaido racing, he secured his first victory in April 2020 at Monbetsu Racecourse. He continued his success at Monbetsu, achieving his third win before transferring back to the JRA ranks. In July, he won a Class 1 race, which was followed by another victory in a Class 2 race in August.
In his fifth year, First Force achieved his first Graded stakes victory as the eighth favourite in the G3 CBC Sho. This year, he finished second in his seasonal debut in the Silk Road Stakes and then made history by becoming a G1 winner at the age of 7 in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen, his fourth attempt at a top-level race. His overall record, including his time in regional racing, stands at 29 starts with 7 wins.
