Kimiwa Queen takes home G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes to earn first Graded stakes title

Kimiwa Queen, guided by Takeshi Yokoyama, won the G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes at Hakodate Racecourse on Sunday. The pair started from the back and came from behind in the homestretch to catch up to Jubilee Head inside the final furlong. Jubilee Head finished second, 3/4 length behind the winner. Meanwhile, the favourite of the race, Toshin Macau, came home in third one-and-a-quarter lengths behind Jubilee Head.
Kimiwa Queen is a daughter of Lord Kanaloa out of Cherry Petals, by Daiwa Major. Sunday's victory marked a first Graded stakes win for Kimiwa Queen, who finished second in Listed Shunrai Stakes.
