Kousei Miura became the 24th JRA jockey to ride 1000 individual winners on Saturday with success aboard Velociraptor in Race 5 at Tokyo Racecourse.

He won his 999th race back on the 13th of May and he finally reached the landmark winner this week. He commented "Thank you all for waiting so patiently. Your support means everything as a jockey, and I will become an even better jockey for you."
