Evan Sweet, a well-bred 2-year-old filly by Suave Richard and trained by Tomomichi, will make her debut on Saturday at Chukyo. She is a half-sister to three G1-winning horses, including Cheval Grand who claimed victory in the 2017 Japan Cup.

She clocked 81.3 seconds for 6 furlongs on the Ritto turf track with a final furlong time of 11.6 seconds last week during a workout. Jockey Sakai expressed his optimism about her progress, saying, "She has a serious and forward-going temperament. She doesn't seem difficult to handle. She moved reasonably well, so I hope she improves after this one final workout." In her last workout on the Ritto dirt track, she displayed a satisfactory late burst of speed even though she was not urged. She appears in good condition and well-prepared for her upcoming race.

Among the promising horses in the stable, this horse has caught the attention of Trainer Tomomichi. He commented, "She has been progressing smoothly without any major issues. Despite her small size, she has shown solid movement even during gate training. Her stride is impressive and she seems capable of handling longer distances. I have a positive feeling that she could be ready to perform well right from her debut." She is definitely a horse to keep an eye on from her very first race.
