American sire Honor Code to stand in Yushun Stallion Station from next spring

Honor Code, who was crowned the champion older colt in the United States in 2015 and has also made a name for himself as a successful stallion, has been confirmed to stand at stud at the Yushun Stallion Station in Niikappu, Hokkaido, starting next spring. This announcement was made on the 17th as reported by the American horse racing media outlet Thoroughbred Daily News.

Honor Code has a rich pedigree; his sire A.P. Indy, his dam is Serena's Cat and his damsire is Storm Cat. During his racing career, he started in 11 races and achieved 6 victories. At the age of 4, he claimed his first G1 victory in the Metropolitan Handicap and followed it up with another triumph in the Whitney Stakes. His final race was the Breeders' Cup Classic where he finished third behind American Pharoah before retiring. In the same year, he was selected as the American Champion Older Colt.

After his retirement from racing, Honor Code entered stud at Lane's End Farm in the United States. He has produced three G1-winning horses, including Max Player, who won the 2021 Jockey Club Gold Cup. In Japan, two of his progeny have made their debuts, including Queen's V V who has achieved 3 victories in dirt sprints.
