Elton Barows extended his unbeaten streak since April in the G2 Mainichi Okan, having broken his maiden in April. Two of the heavily supported runners, Songline and Schnell Meister, could not find a clear path in the homestretch and finished first and second respectively. With this victory, Elton Barows was awarded an entry spot in the G1 Tenno Sho (Autumn) which will be run on the 29th October.

Winning jockey Atsuya Nishimura reflected, "I thought going on the outside is faster than inside where we were running in the home stretch, so I was just praying nobody will catch up to us. I was able to make him travel in his rhythm and he was very keen to quicken up. I was hoping that there would be a clear path to the front and we were able to capitalize on the thin line which was available for us."

For his future plans, he added: "He improves every time after his run and it was a good experience for the whole team to go up against top horses and win against them. I am excited for what the future holds for us."
