Geraldina leads the field ahead of the G1 Queen Elizabeth 2 Cup this Sunday at the new Kyoto Racecourse. Here we run through some of the key contenders in the race.

Geraldina, last year's winner of the race, aims for a second consecutive win in the QEII Cup which would mark her in history as just the fifth back-to-back winner. She is the only runner with a G1 title and has been running in the G1s with consistent results. She finished sixth in the G2 All-Comer after a summer break, and Ryan Moore will take the reins this time.

Brede Weg could not make it in time for fillies' Classics after suffering two fractures but has been a consistent performer since her debut with two wins from four starts and a second in the G2 Rose Stakes. Connections chose this race over the G1 Shuka Sho and there's every hope that we'll see a huge improvement from her last outing.

Harper has been placed in all three fillies' G1s and will partner up with Yuga Kawada, the same pair having teamed up successfully in the G3 Queen Cup. If they can perform at the same level as they did in the classics, she could easily be placed in this race.

Other contenders include G2 Fuchu Himba Stakes winner Divina, Saliera with Tom Marquand, Rouge Eveil who finished second behind Divina, and Lilac who finished second in this race last year.
