Bellagio Opera held off the late challenge by Boccherini to emerge on top in a thrilling finish to the G3 Challenge Cup. Ridden on Saturday by Kazuo Yokoyama, he was claiming his second graded stakes title.

Winning jockey Yokoyama commented, "I think he is still a bit immature physically but he showed improvement by winning at graded stakes level. I am really glad that things are working for him and I cannot wait for the future with him. I think this race will have him ready to run at an even higher level."
