Sent off favourite, Lemon Pop was a facile winner of Sunday's G1 Champions Cup under Ryusei Sakai, and became the only fourth JRA horse to win the both spring and fall dirt G1s. Wilson Tesoro finished second, one-and-a-quarter lengths behind, and Dura Erede came home in third a neck behind Wilson Tesoro.

Lemon Pop is a son of Lemon Drop Kid out of Unreachable, by Giant's Causeway. This was his first time racing over a mile and showed off his adaptability in winning at the highest level over a new distance.
