Ascoli Piceno with Hiroshi Kitamura on board became the unbeaten Champion Two Year Old Filly in Japan with a thrilling victory in the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies at Hanshin Racecourse. Stellenbosch made a late challenge from the inside but was held off by the winner and finished second, just a neck behind. Corazon Beat came home in third, one-and-a-quarter lengths behind Stellenbosch. The winning time was 1:32.6.

Ascoli Piceno is a daughter of Daiwa Major out of Ascolti, by Danehill Dancer. This is her third consecutive win as she retained her unbeaten record and won a first G1 title for her trainer Yoichi Kuroiwa.
