Sent off favourite, Blow the Horn with Akira Sugawara on board won the G2 Nikkei Shinshun Hai at Kyoto Racecourse on Sunday. Savona finished second, a length behind the winner, and Satono Glanz came home in third, one-and-a-quarter lengths behind Savona. The winning time was 2:23.7.

Blow the Horn is a son of Epiphaneia out of Halteclere, by Durandal. He won his first graded stakes after coming back from being pulled up in the G2 Kyoto Daishoten, when he suffered from atrial fibrillation.
