Shadai Farm announced on their Instagram page that four-time G1 winning mare Daiwa Scarlet will retire from breeding and will be spending the rest of her life at the same farm. In the announcement, Shadai Farm commented: "Because of her age and health condition, we will be retiring her from breeding and will let her enjoy the rest of her life at our beautiful farmlands."

Daiwa Scarlet is the daughter of Agnes Tachyon out of Scarlet Bouquet, by Northern Taste. Her dam is a four-time graded stakes winner and her half-brother is five-time G1 winner Daiwa Major. Her career record is eight wins from 12 starts which includes a victory against Vodka in the G1 Oka Sho in 2007. She was chosen as the Best 3-Year-Old Filly and the Best Domestic Bred Horse. She retired at the age of five after running in the G1 Arima Kinen.

She is also well known to be a great dam, producing several winners and producing ten consecutive fillies since 2009. However, her last progeny was the only colt, Grand Scarlet.
