Lord Kanaloa scores 1000th winner as a sire

Lord Kanaloa became the 24th sire in JRA history to win 1000 races as a sire. World's End with Yuga Kawada on board scored the 1000th win on Sunday at Kyoto Racecourse.

Lord Kanaloa is a son of King Kamehameha out of Lady Blossom by Storm Cat. During his career, he won six G1s including the Hong Kong Sprint and was named as the Best Sprinter in Japan.

As a sire, he is responsible for nine-time G1 winner Almond Eye, G1 Hong Kong Sprint winner Danon Smash, and G1 Mile Championship winner Stelvio from the first crop. Other G1 winners include Satsuki Sho winner Saturnalia, Saudi Cup winner Panthalassa, and JBC Sprint winner Red le Zele. He sired winners across all surfaces and distance.
