The Japan Racing Association announced on the 14th that the winner of the 2012 G1 Tenno Sho (Spring) Beat Black suffered a fatal severe fracture at JRA Equestrian Park in Utsunomiya, Tochigi.

Beat Black is a son of Miscast out of Alarm Call, by Brian's Time. His career record was six wins from 34 starts. In the Tenno Sho (Spring), he beat the Triple Crown winner Orfevre and finished third in the G1 Kikuka Sho.
