Sent off favourite, Toshin Macau with Takeshi Yokoyama on board won the G3 Ocean Stakes and won a spot in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen. Big Caesar finished second, one-and-a-quarter lengths behind the winner, and Birth Cry came home in third a nose behind Big Caeser. The winning time was 1:08.0 seconds.

Toshin Macau is a son of Big Arthur out of Yukino Mermaid, by Special Week. This is his second consecutive graded stakes win after winning the G3 Keihan Hai.
