2010 G1 Japanese Oaks winner Saint Emilion dies aged 17

The Japan Racing Association has announced that Saint Emilion, who won the 2010 G1 Japanese Oaks, has passed away at the age of 17 at Shadai Farm. This Oaks was the first dead-heat finish in Japanese Oaks history and the title was shared between Apapane who later became a six-time G1 winning mare. Her last race was in the G2 American Jockey Club Cup, finishing 11th. Her career record was four wins from 18 starts with a total earnings of 176,741,000 JPY.
