Thrilling finish at Nakayama Racecourse as Struve wins G2 Nikkei Sho

Struve with Katsuma Sameshima on board won the G2 Nikkei Sho at Nakayama Racecourse on Saturday. Chrominance finished second, a half-length behind the winner, and Meiner Virtus came home in third 3/4 length behind Chrominance. Made favourite in the betting pre-race, Boccherini finished just fifth. The winning time was 2:31.4.

Struve is a son of King Kamehameha out of Anchuras, by Deep Impact. This is his second consecutive win and a first graded stakes title. He also automatically qualified for the G1 Tenno Sho (Spring).
