Renowned sprinter Flower Park, winner of two Grade 1 races, passed away due to old age at 8:40 AM on the 6th of April at Sugata Farm in Hiratori Town, Hokkaido, where she was being cared for. She was 32 years old.

Flower Park debuted in 1995 and claimed her first graded race victory in 1996 in the G3 Silk Road Stakes. She then achieved her first Grade 1 victory in the Takamatsunomiya Hai (Kinen), followed by a fierce battle win against Eishin Washington in the autumn G1 Sprinters Stakes, earning her the titles of JRA Best Sprinter and Best Domestic-Bred Horse of the Year.

Mr. Yoshinao Shirase, the representative director of the farm reflected, "She never really fell ill and was eating well, it was sudden." Although the farm where she spent her final years is currently not open for visitors, it used to attract a large number of fans before the pandemic, with Mr. Shirase noting, "She had a strong fan base, especially in the summer, it was incredible."
