Tastiera, last year's Japanese Derby winner aiming for a comeback from an 11th-place finish in the G1 Osaka Hai, undertook a fast-paced workout ahead of the G1 Tenno Sho (Spring) on the 18th at Miho Training Center. Starting three lengths ahead of Gonbade Qabus, winner of last year's G3 Saudi Arabia Royal Cup, Tastiera maintained a good pace and finished the workout in hand, recording an impressive time of 82.8 seconds for 6 furlongs, with the last 3 furlongs in 35.8 seconds and the final furlong in 11.0 seconds, finishing in tandem.

Trainer Hori explained, "This was the first serious workout since the last race, so we didn't push too hard; we just extended him enough to get a good response and maintain focus. He was focused and ran through the stretch in the paired workout, and I feel there's an improvement in the quality of his movement." Reflecting on the disappointing performance in the Osaka Hai, he noted, "The exact cause of defeat isn't clear, but his appetite post-transport was poor, leaving about 80% of his feed uneaten." With caution due to the last race, Hori added, "It's hard to predict the outlook, but we plan to approach the upcoming race with some adjustments."
