On the 7th, the G1 Satsuki Sho winner No Reason passed away at Shikato Stable in Minami Soma City, Fukushima Prefecture. He was 25 years old. This was announced by the Japan Stud Book International, a public interest foundation, on the 8th.

No Reason debuted in January 2002 in Kyoto from the Yasuo Ikee stable. In his fourth race, he put in a remarkable performance in the Satsuki Sho, despite being underestimated as the 15th favourite, with jockey Brett Doyle aboard. He triumphed over contenders like Tanino Gimlet, causing a major upset at odds of 115.9/1. However, he retired without achieving another victory, including a fall at the start of the Kikka Sho, where he was the favourite.

Yoshimitsu Shikato, the current owner, expressed gratitude, saying, "He was chosen for the popular game 'Uma Musume,' and we received support from fans who sent grass through the 'Grass Bank.' I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who supported us."
