Shin Emperor is a promising horse with a perfect record of two wins from two starts, including a victory in the G3 Kyoto Nisai Stakes. Although he hasn't secured a win in recent races, he has demonstrated consistent performances. Three starts back, he finished second in the G1 Hopeful Stakes, followed by another second-place finish in the G2 Yayoi Sho, and a fifth-place finish in his latest outing in the G1 Satsuki Sho. Despite not claiming victory, his performances have been solid.

Before the Satsuki Sho, his connections expressed cautious optimism regarding his condition, suggesting he may not have been at his peak. Nonetheless, he still managed to finish in the top five, showcasing his undeniable talent. This upcoming race will be his third start after a break, and his condition is expected to improve further. Returning to Tokyo, where he impressively won his debut, is another positive factor. It would be no surprise to see significant progress from his last race.

Justin Milano tracked a fast pace in his last start in the Satsuki Sho, sitting around fifth position during the race. Although he didn't appear to have the best momentum coming into the final turn, he surged powerfully in the stretch, catching the horse in third place and fending off a late challenge from the runner-up to secure victory. With this win, Justin Milano remains undefeated with a perfect record of three wins from three starts, claiming his first Classic title.

Now switching to Tokyo Racecourse, there should be no concerns regarding the change in venue. Although stabled in the Kansai region, Justin Milano has run both of his first two races at Tokyo. In the G3 Kyodo News Hai two starts back, he won comfortably in a slow-paced, final sprint race, showing such dominance that his jockey had to restrain him near the finish line. Therefore, the change back to Tokyo should be advantageous. With his sire being Kizuna, a Japanese Derby winner, Justin Milano is expected to handle the increased distance well, making him a strong contender for another victory here.

Sunrise Zipangu won the Listed Wakakoma Stakes two races back but finished 9th in his most recent race, the Satsuki Sho. Post-race reports indicated that he struggled with the track conditions, suggesting it would be premature to dismiss his abilities based on that performance alone. Drawn on the inside, he managed to save ground throughout the race but was unable to make significant headway in the stretch due to the deteriorating condition of the inner track.

This time, the race moves to Tokyo, where the course switch to the C Course should provide better track conditions, mitigating the issues faced in his previous outing. Sunrise Zipangu's closing speed is well-suited to Tokyo's longer homestretch, which should play to his strengths. While much depends on the race dynamics, if he can leverage his late kick effectively, he has a solid chance of bouncing back and making a significant impact.
