Puro Magic, the 8th favourite, led from the start and displayed a remarkable turn of foot in the stretch to win the G3 Aoi Stakes, securing her first graded stakes victory. Pair Pollux finished second, with Nanao in third. The favorite, Etes Vous Prets, finished fourth. The winning time was 1:07.1.

Winning jockey Kazuo Yokoyama said, "She's quite lively and perhaps a bit too serious, but I'm glad we managed to calm her down and achieve a good result." He added, "It's great that she runs earnestly, but I hope she can find a bit more rhythm. She has great speed and her earnest nature is an asset, so I hope to manage it effectively going forward."

Tomorrow, Danon Decile, a stablemate and contemporary of Puro Magic, will compete in the G1 Japanese Derby with Norihiro Yokoyama, Kazuo's father, in the saddle. Passing the baton in good form, Kazuo commented, "The Derby is a special stage. Although I don't have a ride this year, I hope for a safe race that sets hearts ablaze," offering his support to his stablemate.
