Half-sister to King Squall takes joint honours for 80 million JPY at the JRHA Select Sale 2024

The second day of the "JRHA Select Sale 2024" for yearling thoroughbreds opened on the 23rd at the Hokkaido Market in Shin Hidaka, Hokkaido. On the second day, 177 horses were put up for auction, with 157 horses (110 colts and 47 fillies) being sold. The total sales amounted to 2.3575 billion JPY (excluding tax), with a clearance rate of 88.7%.

The highest price was shared between two horses. One was "Gold Chase 2023" (colt, sire Drefong) bred by Grand Farm in Shin Hidaka, and the other was "Rain On The Dune 2023" (filly, sire Orfevre) bred by Tobino Bokujo in Shin Hidaka, both sold for 80 million yen (excluding tax). The former is a half-brother to Chase the Dream, and the latter is a half-sister to King Squall, who won a Newcomers race at Sapporo Racecourse with a record time.

Following them was "Je Reviens 2023" (colt, sire Silver State), bred by Oyanagi Farm in Urakawa, sold for 46 million yen (excluding tax).
