On August 5th, it was announced that Dura Erede, winner of the 2022 G1 Hopeful Stakes, and second in the G3 Elm Stakes last weekend, will run in the Sapporo Kinen after just a one-week layoff.

If there are no problems with his condition after the race, he will be the mount of Yusuke Fujioka for the first time. Since finishing third in last fall's Champions Cup, Dura Erede has raced exclusively on dirt, finishing third in the G1 Tokyo Daishoten in 2023 and fifth in the Dubai World Cup earlier this year. He has not raced on turf since finishing eighth in last year's St.Lite Kinen.
