This week, racing will take place at Niigata, Chukyo, and Sapporo Racecourses, with three graded stakes races scheduled.

On Sunday, the G3 Niigata Nisai Stakes will be held at Niigata Racecourse. Notable entries include Caught Alliciant, a son of Saturnalia who dominated the Tokyo 1600m newcomers race, Shin Forever, a Complexity colt made all in a Niigata 1600m newcomers race. Another entrant with a big reputation is Star Wave, a 300 million JPY purchase, a Kingman colt who impressed in the Tokyo 1400m newcomers race.

Also on Sunday, the G3 Keeneland Cup will be run at Sapporo Racecourse. Entries include Satono Reve, the winner of the G3 Hakodate Sprint Stakes, as well as Obamburumai, returning to domestic action from an international campaign.

On Saturday, the Jump G3 Kokura Summer Jump will take place, featuring Hokko Mevius, the winner of the Jump G3 Niigata Jump Stakes, and Roscoff, who is coming off a second-placed effort in the Jump G3 Tokyo Jump Stakes.

On Wednesday, August 21st, the G1 International Stakes will go to post at York Racecourse in the UK. Japan will be represented by Durezza, 2023 G1 Kikuka Sho (Japanese St. Leger) winner, trained by Tomohito Ozeki from his base in Miho Training Center. Wagering on the race will be available in Japan, with a scheduled post time of 11:35 PM JST.
