City Of Troy wins the G1 International Stakes in stunning fashion

On Wednesday, August 21, the G1 International Stakes was held at York Racecourse in the UK, where the favourite, City Of Troy, ridden by jockey Ryan Moore, led from start to finish to claim victory. The winning time was 2:04.32, a track record.

Calandagan, the third favourite, finished in second place, while the ninth favourite, Ghostwriter, secured third.

The fifth favourite, Japan's entrant, Durezza, ran a good race from a prominent position but could not find extra gear in the stretch, finishing in fifth place.

City Of Troy is by Justify out of Together Forever, by Galileo. This marks his third consecutive G1 victory following wins in the English Derby and the Eclipse Stakes. His winning time of 2:04.32 set a new course record, nearly a full second faster than the previous record of 2:05.29 set by Sea The Stars in the 2009 International Stakes.
