Durezza, ridden by Christophe Lemaire, finished fifth in the G1 International Stakes at York Racecourse, where he represented Japan.

This year, 13 horses contested the race on good ground. Last year's G1 Kikuka Sho winner, Durezza, tracked the leaders from a good position on the outside but failed to find an extra gear in the home straight, ultimately finishing fifth. Ryan Moore won the race aboard City Of Troy, the G1 English Derby winner, who set a new course record of 2:04.32.

Reflecting on the race, Lemaire commented, "Given the high level of competition and the fact that this was his first race back, he faded in the end." Trainer Tomohito Ozeki added, "It was unexpected that City Of Troy, drawn inside Durezza, would take control of the race from the front and maintain the lead in record time. In the straight, Durezza fought well and aimed for victory, but in the end, we felt the difference in class. The conditions suited him, and considering his current condition, he did well, but this race showed there's still work to be done. The horse gave his all, and we'll aim for another big race after returning to Japan."
