Race favourite, Mikki Madonna (a two-year-old filly by Epiphaneia out of Mikki Queen), bided her time in mid-pack before launching a sharp run in the home straight. Just in time, she caught the runaway leader, Red Stern, winning impressively, albeit by a narrow margin.

Winning jockey Joao Moreira praised the filly's potential, saying, "She's very professional. Despite it being her debut, she ran a solid race."
