Mama Cocha and Ten Happy Rose ready for the battle in the G2 Centaur Stakes

Mama Cocha, aiming to rebound from her 8th-place finish in the G1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen, completed her final track work on the 4th at the Ritto Training Center's slope course ahead of the G2 Centaur Stakes. With jockey Katsuma Sameshima back in the saddle for the first time in four races, she powered up the hill with a sharp and energetic gallop, showing no signs of rustiness. Her connections are hopeful for a strong start as she heads towards her ultimate goal, defending her title in the upcoming G1 Sprinters Stakes this fall.

Meanwhile, Ten Happy Rose, the G1 Victoria Mile champion, was also impressive in her track work on the slope course. Despite her distinctive high-headed running style, her footwork was full of energy, finishing 4F in 52.9 seconds with splits of 38.6 and 12.5 seconds. This race serves as a prep for her upcoming U.S. campaign, and she looks fit and ready.

Trainer Daisuke Takayanagi commented, "She was relaxed and this was more of a final tune-up. Her condition doesn't fluctuate much at six years old, but she's in good form." He added that jockey Tsumura, who rode her last week, praised her track work, saying she was easy to handle, and everything seemed to be in place for a strong performance.

Ten Happy Rose's next major target is the G1 Breeders' Cup Mile (November 2nd, Del Mar). The race at hand serves as a stepping stone, and given the left-handed track, her preferred running direction, she has been aiming at this course for some time. Trainer Takayanagi expressed optimism, noting, "Considering the race flow, I think it will suit her well. She won't put in a disappointing performance." With a top result, she'll cross the ocean with confidence.
