On the 3rd, Keu, a 5-year-old filly, competed in Race 10 at Kawasaki Racecourse, the Pollux Sho (Dirt, 2000m). Weighing over 600kg, her imposing physique captivated not only the fans gathered at the racecourse but also racing enthusiasts across the nation through social media.

This race marked Keu's first start in 1 year and 8 months, since her last appearance in the Hyakunin Issyu Sho in January 2022. Her race weight on the day was a staggering 620kg, significantly surpassing her own previous record of 602kg set in the 2022 Rosita Kinen, making her the heaviest filly or mare to compete in Japan. Living up to her name, which means "rare" in Japanese, she commanded attention in the paddock, displaying a majestic presence. On social media platforms like Netkeiba's official X (formerly Twitter), fans were in awe, with reactions like "Unbelievable! She's even bigger than Don Frankie. And she's a filly?!"

Sent off as the 7th favourite, Keu had a slow start and found herself at the rear of the field. She gradually improved her position, cruising comfortably near the back of the pack as they passed the stands for the first time. As the pace quickened around the third corner, she tried to keep up but ultimately finished 7th.

Although she did not manage to place this time after her long layoff, Keu remains a proven horse, having won the graded stakes Le Printemps Sho in Saga in 2022. With her massive frame and impressive past performances, this "giant girl" will continue to be one to watch in the future.
